Paul has over 40 years of working with diverse communities. He has spent the last 15 years as a researcher and facilitator.

Leo has over 8 years experience working in research and evaluation, developing research projects, data analysis and training and supporting fieldwork teams.

Kate Rodenhurst MA BA (Hons)

Experience – Kate has over 10 years in the arts sector, working on learning and community programmes

Philosophy – ‘Arts and culture are essential to create cities and communities that are great to live in

Most rewarding project’ – Leading a project which supported refugees and asylum seekers through participation in cultural activities


Eric Gowling MA MMRS

Experience – Eric has over 30 years in market and social research.

Philosophy – ‘Decisions involving people, businesses, communities should be underpinned with timely, relevant and accurate intelligence’

Most rewarding project – Managing a project looking at the needs of disabled people living at home and their carers.



Maria McCann, MA

Maria spent over 30 years in outreach work setting up/managing community projects both in England and in the developing world. She worked in the statutory, voluntary and community sectors and developed partnerships across Merseyside and beyond. Her first degree was in languages and her MA was in Ethnic Studies and Race Relations Her thesis was on Racist Stereotyping of Irish People in Merseyside.

David Warnock, BA (Hons) Social Sciences, CQSW

Experience – David has 25 years as a social worker, and over 5 years working in housing, health and social care designing and executing consultation and research with tenants and service users.

Philosophy – ‘Working with residents, tenants and services users to help create and develop independent groups and strengthen their roles’

Most Rewarding Project – Working for ten years as a CAB advice team trustee.


Rachael Treacher MSc BA (Hons)

Experience – Rachael has worked in the arts and cultural sector for over ten years in evaluation and project management positions. She has worked on a number of large and small scale events in the North West including two community engagement projects with BBC North.

Philosophy ‘ It is vital to document evaluate and use qualitative data in the right way to shape, inform and influence future policy decision making locally and nationally ‘
